Istockphoto is a joke and I wonder what amatures or people they hire to moderate the upload server! I submitted and recently signed up a new account with 10 photos. All denied! Ok one of them was almost the same photo featured in discovery channels photo which tied in to fox news and yahoo news with Kevin Sites.... No faces on the photos,... Flawless photo taken with a 1d canon markIII with a 300 2.8 lens. Best photo I think I have ever taken and we all critisize our own work so this one hands down was the best. Denied. Really???!!! because they felt my keywords didn't match ! Emailed the admins and nothing ! I think I might just save the hr of my life and stop going on istockphoto. Iv read lots of stories in the last couple days and it's starting to become a trend and annoying. Istockphoto no more for me and good luck to the rest of u.HotZone Photographernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20197151.post-79402836064025324972009-09-18T07:02:49.144-04:002009-09-18T07:02:49.144-04:00looks like it's a blanket ban on any photograp...looks like it's a blanket ban on any photograph of anything man-made, as it may constitute a design infringement blah blah. odd decisions.Leohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01987763597191779329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20197151.post-7431840982017696542009-09-10T07:51:55.926-04:002009-09-10T07:51:55.926-04:00hey anonymous, wanna buy any of my images? =/

They are HORRIBLE. It's been over 8 weeks and they only approved 2 out of 10. They require such crazy requirements and there is literally 2-3 weeks between emails. They also want you to take a screen capture of your "layers" to prove that you made the video. One got rejected because they said the background faded cloud movie I needed a signed property release. O.K. perhaps...but they emailed me 2 weeks later saying that the video was approved and I could upload the 200MB+ high res file. I uploaded it and 2 weeks later they say that they didn't get it and to upload it again. It's SO NOT worth it. I've had good luck with pond5 and revostock, super companies to work with. I'm so ticked off that I actually did a search for "istock sucks" and landed here.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16245251996360713973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20197151.post-17879559739676345552009-09-09T07:16:19.955-04:002009-09-09T07:16:19.955-04:00Hi Ross

They got bought out by Getty Images and their process sucks just as well. iStock rapes your images. You get basically less then $1 for each purchase so you need to have a bunch on the site, plus theres all kinds of limitation as to where you can display your images. Getty is the same way :( www.gettyimages.comTheBobBlog.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08462057727815253156noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20197151.post-89351336219365870742009-09-08T21:47:58.425-04:002009-09-08T21:47:58.425-04:00Hey Bob, are there any alternates? It's clearly not in their best interest to have a competing image available.

Stopped uploading pics there a while back, really ever since Getty bought them.
