All good things must come to an end...

After 4.5 years, February 27th will be my last day with Apple Computer. Working at Apple has been an amazing experience. I started off as a part-time specialist but the last 3 years, I've had one of the more prestigious positions of being a "Creative." A job opportunity presented itself a few months ago and I've decided that it would be stupid of me not to take the job. I will be working for an attorney making some serious bank (hence the new BMW, which btw, just got built today). Apple will be truly missed, not to mention the talented and amazing people that have become my family.
xo apple, I miss you already :(

Long live my Mustang ...

I was a sophomore in college the summer of 2001 when I bought the Mustang. I had pestered my father all summer to let me buy one and working part time for a landscaping company, saving every penny for that car. Throughout high school, I was very quiet and kept to myself, the Mustang brought me out of my shell. It built my confidence and boosted my selfesteem (wierd huh?). The Mustang was my pride, my joy, my freedom. Almost every weekend, I was going someplace in that Mustang...just to drive and be one with the road. Looking back, and can't believe all the memories I've had with that car. I was going to be emotional to watch it go.
Then, yesterday, I get a call from my father. Instead of me traiding in the stang for my new BMW, dad is going to buy it off me for the trade in price. He wants to put the custom wheels back on, wax it, buff it, and detail it all out. He mentioned maybe keeping it saying "maybe some day you might want it back."
Out of any gesture my father has ever done for me, this by far, tops them all.
And now, my lil' pony in all her glory:

The stang sported these custom rims in the summer time. I had to wait 6 months for them to be made at $700 a piece plus the lowprifile tires. The Euro style taillights were on the car for two years before I put the original ones back on. Dad and I lowered her 2" shortly after I got her and we put a set of flowmasters on her to give her a deep voice :)

Now I can't wait to do a photo shoot of the BMW and the Mustang together, how awesome is that!?!

Just ordered a 2009 BMW 128i!!!
I really wanted a Audi TTS but those are 50K and I can't afford that right now, so I ordered the next best thing, a 128i BMW. Got it in Black Sapphire Metallic with the very cool Coral Red Boston Leather interior w/aluminum trim. Takes 8 weeks to order, perfect timing for when the weather gets nice :) My 2001 Mustang has been an awesome car with not a single problem, however it's horrible in the winter and it was time for a change.

The Surfhouse; love it!!

Architects: XTEN Architecture
Location: Manhattan Beach, California, USA
Principals: Monika Haefelfinger & Austin Kelly, AIA
Client: Jennifer & Nick Hall
Project Year: 2008
Photographs: Art Gray Photography
The Surfhouse appears as an abstract block of ebonized cedar a few blocks from the Pacific Ocean in Hermosa Beach. The site is very small. While typical lots in the area measure 120′ x 40′, the allowable building area for the Surfhouse measures just 33′ x 24′. The architects approached the project by subtracting the larger program areas from a solid volumetric form that conformed to the zoning regulations and sought to maximize space, light, and views while also creating a sense of privacy and retreat for the young owners on a busy beachside street.

The domestic program is stacked vertically on the lot. Services and bedrooms are on the lower floors, with larger rooms pushed to the corners for light and views in multiple directions. The top floor and decks are completely open as continuous indoor / outdoor living spaces open to the beach and ocean. The facade is made from rough sawn, black stained cedar planks with volumetric openings at primary program spaces and a system of identical 2′ x 5′ casement windows arrayed across the secondary elevations for specific views and ventilation. The interior is all light and air, with bamboo floors and walls of glass that slide away to bring the beachside environment inside.

Doctor leaves secret £6 million Bugatti in his will

The 130mph Type 57S Atalante is only one of 17 ever made, and could be worth up to £6 million at auction.
That would make it the most expensive car ever to go under the hammer.
Dr Harold Carr died in June 2007 aged 89, a childless bachelor.
He left the lock-up in Newcastle to his nephews and nieces, without telling them of its invaluable contents.
Alongside the Bugatti they also found an E Type Jaguar and an Aston Martin.
They have decided to put the Bugatti, which has not been driven since 1960, up for auction.
It will be the star of Bonhams' Retromobile car sale in Paris on February 7.
Dr Carr's nephew, an engineer from Gosforth, Newcastle, said: "We just cannot believe it was there. No-one had any idea what kind of cars he had parked in there. We knew he had some cars, but we had no idea what they were.
"It was a bit of local folklore that he had a Bugatti, but no-one knew for sure, and certainly no-one knew how much it was worth."
Describing his uncle as "a very eccentric old gent", he said: "It's a wonderful thing to leave."
James Knight, International Head of Bonhams' motoring department said: "I have known of this Bugatti for a number of years and, like a select group of others, hadn't dared divulge its whereabouts to anyone.
"It is absolutely one of the last great barn discoveries, and we at Bonhams are honoured to have been selected to handle its sale."
