"Make it work" T-Shirt design

I'm not a big fan of reality/contest shows but I'm savvy enough to know about Tim Gunn of Project Runway and his catchphrase, "Make it work" which make me appreciate this awesome T-Shirt design by Chris Glass. The shirt is $20 and be found on WireAndWine.com

LEGO Planter (updated)

A few days ago I posted about Park Planters which cost a steep $150. Well today I was browsing around Smith & Hawken on my lunch break and found the little air fern that was included in the $150 wallet rape. The fern only cost $5 so I decided to just build my own planter out of the the best building materials known to man, LEGOs. (The plant is actually in it's own pot inside the structure).

UPDATE:
I just got an email from CharlesAndMarie.com telling me how much they loved my Lego Planter (how cool is that?!) and they will be retailing the original Park Planters for $100 not $150. They have some different designs then the original Science&Sons site. Their site has a lot of cool stuff on it so be sure to check it out.

Rolling Stone Keith Richards models for Louis Vuitton

Keith Richards, the legendary guitarist and songwriter, and founding member of The Rolling Stones, is the latest celebrity to feature in Louis Vuitton's advertising campaign.
Produced by Ogilvy & Mather, the campaign restates travel as the fundamental and defining value of Louis Vuitton, interpreting it as a personal journey and a process of self-discovery.

In this latest visual, photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Keith Richards is pictured cradling his guitar in a hotel room he has transformed by draping black scarves with skull motifs over the lamps and placing a skull on a bedside table.

Frozen Grand Central

What happens when 207 undercover agents freeze in place at the exact same moment for 5 minutes at Grand Central Station in NY? This is a prank on a "grand" scale. Over 200 people gathered at Grand Central Station in New York to pull off a 'frozen in place' act. The onlooking travelers who weren't part of the act were mystified as to what was going on.

Some cool stuff I found on the net...

CIRCLE GRASS GARDEN
Carrying on the Japanese obsession with greening the living space, this large circle comes with everything you need to grow your own lawn. The circle contains a tray in which you place the high-tech growing medium, made up tiny sponge balls impregnated with nutrients. Sprinkle the prairie grass seed on top, water and wait. After about a week the grass will sprout and start to grow. Keep it trimmed or let it grow wild, it's your choice! it will last for 4-5 months, after which time you can buy a refill kit and start all over again. So much greener than cut flowers!

Plastidermy
Pioneerd by science and sons, Plastidermy is a series of lasersmithed, life size, slot assembled animal trophies and inspired lighting.Constructed of pure swiss glacial acrylic, each set of parts are shipped flat with instructions For easy on-site assembly. Combine any 3 of the same animal mounts to create a unique Chandelier.

Phonofone II
Through passive amplification alone, These unique pieces instantly transform any personal music player + earbuds into a sculptural audio console. Without the use of external power or batteries, the Phonofone inventively exploits the virtues of horn acoustics to boost the audio output of standard earphones to up to 55 decibles* (or roughly the maximum volume of laptop speakers) Upon connecting active earphones to the Phonofone their trebly buzzing is instantly and profoundly transformed into a warm, rich and resonant sound.

Park Planters
Drawing inspiration from the bonsai, park planters were created to elevate the common household plant to the status of full grown tree. The potted plant becomes the backdrop for an urban park scene. Ranging from dog walkers to flashers and muggers, no two scenes are alike ensuring the autonomy of each piece.

Hunting Trap Cuff
Milan designer Georgo Phillip Pecenikov--a.k.a. Gogo--comes from a family of traditional high-end jewelry artisans, but uses his knowledge to create edgy statements that evoke a wink under the label Toy Me. Each piece is hand cast in silver and plated with rhodium (the priciest and most reflective of the precious metals). Here Gogo grabs attention instead of flesh with a Hunting Trap that is articulated. Sized to be worn at the wrist by a man, or as an arm-cuff by a woman.

Curb Your Enthusiasm

I'm hooked on Curb Your Enthusiasm...

For those of you that don't know what the show is about:
Each half-hour episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm features verité-style footage of David (playing himself) at home, at work and around town, as he gets into predicaments with fictional and real-life personalities. With cast regulars Jeff Garlin (as manager Jeff Greene) and Cheryl Hines (as wife Cheryl) reprising their roles, the series features appearances by guest celebrities playing themselves or character roles.

Candid, unsparing and self-deprecating, Curb Your Enthusiasm brings the off-kilter comic vision of Larry David--co-creator and co-executive producer of one of the most lauded comedy series in TV history, Seinfeld--to HBO. The series blurs the lines between reality and fiction, as David (playing himself) and a cast of real and fictional characters are followed around Los Angeles by a ubiquitous camera that chronicles the private, often banal world of a (relatively) public man.

Having evolved from the 1999 HBO special Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm, this series proves how seemingly trivial details of one's day-to-day life--a trip to the movies, a phone call, a visit from some trick-or-treaters--can precipitate a "Murphy's Law" chain of misfortune to hilarious effect. Like George Costanza in Seinfeld, the protagonist of Curb Your Enthusiasm has a knack for getting himself into uncomfortable situations that end up alienating him from peers and acquaintances.

To keep the narrative fresh and spontaneous, Curb Your Enthusiasm is shot without a script; the cast is given scene outlines and often improvise lines as they go. The result is an unpredictable format that's unlike anything else on TV.

Hulu.com

YouTube is great for short clips. But not so great when you're wanting to watch the episode of The Simpsons you missed last week. Following an extended beta period, Hulu is here to help. A joint venture of NBC Universal and the usually evil News Corp., Hulu is a free online video site that offers a large selection of full-length high quality (and legal!) TV shows and movies from more than 50 content providers like Fox, NBC, MGM, Sony, Warner Bros., and Lionsgate.
