Grand Prize!!!

YAY!!! My Tiny Planet won the Grand Prize for the annual Franklin Park Conservatory photography contest.

I finally migrated my blog over to the new version of Blogger. I briefly lost all the customizing I had previously done, but was able to rebuild the layout in about 20min. I'll be adding things back to the sidebar in a few days. What do you think of the new banner?

Jeanie Auseon: Mixed media Fiber Artist

Some amazing artwork by a very talented artist that I have the privilege of knowing; Jeanie Auseon. During her many years as an art teacher and fine arts coordinator, teaching was the art form that claimed her time, energy and creativity. Jeanie creates abstract surface designs by elaborating on the spontaneous interaction of permanent dyes to forms of resist (i.e., wax, vegetable starches, folding, clamping, etc.). She then prints, draws and paints on these surfaces. Her designs are inspired by the shapes, colors, patterns, lines and textures from many cultures as well as randomness and repetition in nature. "The illusion of movement, balance and depth on two dimensional surfaces are constant sources of exploration in my work."

Hocking Hills

Jer and I went to Hocking Hills on Sunday. It was a nice hike, but we should have waited a few weeks for the leaves to change some more.

Gmail Goggles Prevents Drunk Emails

Gmail can't always prevent you from sending messages you might later regret, but today they launched a new Labs feature called Mail Goggles which may help.

When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you're really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you're in the right state of mind?

By default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you're most likely to need it. Once enabled, you can adjust when it's active in the General settings.

Hopefully Mail Goggles will prevent many of you out there from sending messages you wish you hadn't. Just wish they could do something about sending drunkin text messages

Named after the sword a matador uses in a bull fight, the Lamborghini Estoque ($TBA) lives up to its moniker with a long body and sharp styling. Still in the concept stage, this four-door beast boasts 22-inch front wheels and 23-inch rear wheels, full-time all-wheel drive, flat LED rear signal light clusters, a mid-engine design, and looks that could stop a full-grown bull dead in its tracks.
