I was half right. We ended up winning the crappiest camera ever and a watch that you can pick the gold coating off. This place was so far out in BFE it was amazing we found it at all.

The only good thing about the trip was this abandoned house we passed on our way up. It looked like it's been abandoned for years and was unvandalized. I wanted to go back so bad to explore and take pictures, but Jer was getting pissy so I had to let it be.

Vice City

Last night I dragged Jer to see Miami Vice. The movie was 2.5hr and could have been summed up in half that time. There was a killer (no pun intended) shoot out at the end and I kinda got all emotional when the pretty BMW got custom bullet holes along the side. Jamie Foxx did some awesome acting, Colin...well, he had sexy hair.


You know the trailer where their playing Numb by Linkin Park and driving all fast and looking super cool? I burned a CD with that song on it, made sure my stang was a gleamin', and jammed to that song to and from the movie theater (just like the trailer). Jer wasn't feeling it and kept turning down the volume and asked if there were other songs on the CD. He's just not as pimp (or as much of a dork) as me.

We're off to Cambridge (3 hours away) today to see if we won a car. Jer entered some contest and we ended up winning one of 5 keys to start a Jeep or 25K. They said that even if we don't win the money or car, that we will get some nice prizes. A few of the prizes are a 35mm camera from some brand I never heard of and a huge TV that is also brand retarded. I so know that's what were coming back with.

Unnecessary Censorship

I finally got my Holga negatives developed yesterday after a month of having the film sitting on my desk. This was my first time using medium format film, so it came out kinda crappy. But I understand my mistakes so the next ones should be kick ass. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, a Holga is a totally manual medium format camera. Since it's all manual, you have the flexibility of not advancing the film all the way and getting some amazing overlaps. I've spent years playing with photoshop and doing overlays, but actually doing it on film is a whole nother ball game. If you fuck up an exposure, the whole film can be ruined.



I use slid film, which actually looks like the print version (it's not an amber like 35mm film). The negatives are 30" of a continuous seen which I've mounted on plexi glass so it's easier to see. Now all I need to get is a slide scanner.

When I was a youngster, I use to cut a new Calvin & Hobbes out of the newspaper every night. I miss those days *sigh*

Busy weekend

My parents came down for the weekend to help me do some stuff around my new place. Dad helped me install a storm door in front, and built me a back gate. I also did some mulching and put some nice edging down. I'm still planning on getting a fire pit, some more plants and maybe a little bar area. The back area looks so much better tho.

I updated the "xtra stuff" section to the right with the new pics of downtown Columbus and added a page for the recent car show at the fairgrounds.

So this whole time I've been wondering why the hell doesn't anyone ever comment on my images or my site. Turns out that I had the "moderate comments" turned on and I never viewed them till tonight....which I accidently deleted them when I turned the moderation to off....and I had so many I didn't get a chance to read :(
